The American Nuclear Society (or ANS) is a network of professionals, students, researchers, lobbyists, and pro-nuclear people throughout the world with the goal of supporting and promoting nuclear technology and the nuclear industry. The goal of ANS is to advocate for the peaceful use of nuclear technology and applications in our society. From clean power generation to nondestructive testing to medical treatments for cancer, nuclear technology continues to provide beneficial applications to all of us. The organization is a large lobbying group made up of individuals from all fields regarding these nuclear or radiological applications. The University of Massachusetts Lowell ANS chapter is a satellite organization, taking part in elections and attending national and local meetings.
